I think I spoke on this very topic in one of my comic book reviews, how people write or draw characters with real Hollywood actors in mind. This isn’t new, folks have always been typecasting since the beginning. I know I do it sometimes when I’m writing. It just helps. This week at E3 fans got a look at a new trailer from Sony called Beyond:Two Souls starring Ellen Page (INCEPTION,Hard Candy) and the script writer/creator David Cage offered us some insight into why Ellen was cast.
BEYOND: Two Souls ™ is a unique psychological action thriller featuring Academy Award(r) nominee, Ellen Page in the lead role. Experience the incredible life of a person who possesses extraordinary powers through a connection with an invisible entity. Watch as your actions and decisions determine her fate and face incredible emotional challenges never before seen in a video game.
This is what creator David cage had to say about Ellen.
“When I started writing the script,” he said, “usually what I’m doing is I get a picture of existing actors without necessarily having them in mind to have them in the game. It’s just to help me having a face to look at their eyes and say, “I know how he’s going to react in that situation.” It helps me. And the first pictures I got for Beyond were of Ellen Page.” courtesy of The Verge
