Look up the word indie in the dictionary and you’ll probably find a picture of Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine and The Green Hornet) cut out of a card board box with buttons for eyes and a drawn in mouth starring right back at you. You can also look up the word Swede (A form of film making that utilizes very basic tools to create) and see him again and again. Michel has and always will be the science fiction director on a budget despite the tons of money his films posses. He exudes that level of charm that is unlike any other. Recently Lamonde.Fr released production stills from the set of his new film Mood Indigo starring Audrey Tautou and Roman Duris.
The French film “follows Colin (Romain Duris), the wealthy inventor of an olfactory musical instrument, the pianocktail. He marries Chloe (Audrey Tautou), but unfortunately, she falls ill during their honeymoon thanks to a water lily that enters her lung, and the only way to treat the ailment is to surround her with flowers — and the expense soon drains his funds.”
Pure Michel! I’m on board. No release date yet for the film, but I’ll keep ya posted!
