CGI animation is all the rage, as it should be.  It has brought some of my childhood fantasies to life on the screen in a way I could never had imagined 25-30 years ago.  Obviously, we didn’t have the technology available to make certain things happen.  What we did have, was Phil Tippett, however.  You know his work.  Seventh Voyage of Sinbad, Dragonslayer, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, Robocop, Starship Troopers, and much more.  Tell me that some, if not all, of these films didn’t blow you away with the effects they presented.  Still do.  Now, Phil has decided to get his own project going after having it sit on his mind for two decades.  He just received over triple the amount of money he was looking for through, Kickstarter, and he and his team are amped to make this happen.  I’m stoked to see the product.  Below is a short preview, and also a video they produced interviewing the artists and designers for the project, including Mr. Tippett himself, can be found here.
