One of the best bands to come out of the hipster haze is Animal Collective. Avey Tare (David Porter), Panda Bear (Noah Lennox), Deakin (Josh Dibb) and Geologist (Brian Weitz) make up this gang of minstrels hailing from Maryland. Borrowing from the trippiness of Beach Boys Brian Wilson‘s most stony tracks and washed out vocals, Animal Collective has managed to push the boundaries of indie rock and electronic music slowly becoming the Radiohead of the indie scene. I remember when I first saw the hallucination induced fever dream video for “How To Win A Rabbit” and thinking to myself these guys are already ahead of the shit and this video only guarantees their spot in rocks hall of fame. This latest off of their forth album Centipede Hz is filled with all the crazy we’ve come to expect from Baltimore County‘s finest. Severed whistles and bells accompanied by hollow drum beats and catchy liquid vocals as usual. If this track is any example of the tom foolery were in for, consider this bad boy already downloaded. Centipede Hz drops September 4th 2012.
