I admit I was a bit hesitant when Fox Searchlight announced they were doing a biopic on the life of director Alfred Hitchcock, but that has long since subsided as bits and pieces of spot on costuming and detail have been coming from the production. The film directed by Sacha Gervasi (The Story of ANVIL) stars Anthony Hopkins as Alfred Hitchcock and Helen Mirren as his wife. Then the cast goes into that grey area, with actors I couldn’t give a shit about, but know that in small doses could help to propel this bad boy along. Actors like Scarlett Johansson who plays Janet Leigh, Jessica Biel as Vera Miles, and James D’Arcy as Norman Bates himself, Tony Perkins, Danny Huston, Toni Collette, Jessica Biel, Michael Stuhlbarg, James D’Arcy, Michael Wincott, Richard Portnow and Kurtwood Smith round out the rest of the cast. I’ll say since it releases in and around the fall they are shooting for Oscar and it’ll probably get a nod seeing as how it’s a small seemingly tight net group who’ll go on and on in interviews about how much of a thrill it was to work with each other and how they are all like family now…blah, blah, blah. Anyway enjoy the pics they are amazingly beautiful.
