EVIL DEAD – Official Redband Teaser Trailer

I’ll admit it’s kind of hard for me to take this serious. I’m almost confused when I think about what exactly is happening in this trailer. My thoughts certainly don’t turn to the original Sam Raimi directed 1981 horror film starring Bruce Campbell, but I sure as hell was missing his mug or something like it from the original. Sure there’s the girl in the cellar and the tree rape…oh and the cutting off of the hand, but look who it’s happening too? Kids…I don’t know, maybe the original cast were about the same age when the first Evil Dead came out. It’s always hard to tell. I mean I just recently watched CARRIE (the original) and I kept saying to myself “are these supposed to be high school kids?” But these really do look like children especially the lass in the cellar. Okay…I had to get that out, other than that this movie looks pretty sick for sick sake, almost too much, clearly catering to the desensitized youth of today. I know I sound like an old man when I say this, but this is pretty brutal. What am I saying this film has Sam Raimi’s blessing, but that doesn’t mean much when you consider the bags of cash he’s making from it. Remember this, if you remember nothing else…nothing is sacred. I do wish the best for this only cause the assh*** gave it his blessing thus vouching for it, thus putting his ass on the line. In my opinion of course. The new 2013 Evil Dead stars Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Jessica Lucas, Lou Taylor Pucci and Elizabeth Blackmore and is directed by Fede Alvarez. Evil Dead releases in theaters on April 12th next spring.
