Freaky trailer for John Dies At The End starring Paul Giamatti

If you still don’t understand what exactly is happening after you watch this trailer, don’t worry, you are not alone, but somehow I believe that director Don Coscarelli (Bubba Hotep, Phantasm) and creator/writer David Wong wouldn’t have it an other way. John Dies At The End is a strange take on the drug genre horror film, but in that way that cinephiles will either do two things, turn away completely or dig deeper for the films hidden meaning, which we all know is the the basis for all good cult classics. Like watching Supernatural on acid, it manages to weave in elements of G-ds and demons while still focusing on stoner’s and murderers. Strange days indeed.

It’s a drug that promises an out-of-body experience with each hit. On the street they call it Soy Sauce, and users drift across time and dimensions. But some who come back are no longer human. Suddenly a silent otherworldly invasion is underway, and mankind needs a hero. What it gets instead is John and David, a pair of college dropouts who can barely hold down jobs. Can these two stop the oncoming horror in time to save humanity? No. No, they can’t.

John Dies At The End stars Paul Giamatti, Chase Williamson, Rob Mayes, Clancy Brown, Glynn Turman, Doug Jones, Daniel Roebuck, Jonny Weston and Fabianne ThereseJohn Dies at the End will be  available on demand starting December 28th with a theatrical release on January 25th.  Below is the trailer for the damn thing.

  1. I think the audience, and their expectations, is this film’s worst nightmare. If you don’t get the trailer (no problem here) how likely are you to remember to check this film out around the holidays? Unfortunate. After all, Paul Giamatti rocks.
