I post things on MITNG cause I think they are worthy of coverage. Of course, using the word “worthy” may give some reason to feel as though I might have a G-d complex. I don’t…I just know what’s good and what isn’t and this video/song is good. How To Destroy Angels is the brainchild of Trent Reznor, wife Mariqueen Maandig (see, I’m not the only one with disillusions of grandeur…checkout that name) Atticus Ross,]and Rob Sheridan. Their latest single “Ice Age” is the second release off their second album “An Omen”, the first release being “Keep It Together“. This video is an emotional little diddy, complete with seriously organic plinks, whizzes and let us not forget…melancholy. The sound of Ice Age is not unlike the soundtrack for The Social Network, but that doesn’t bother me considering TSN soundtrack was another Trent joint and is oh so worthy. The dark and brooding collection of images was brought to you by director John Hillcoat (Lawless, The Road). This man has the eye for apocalyptic and wields that doomsday brush well. The only thing keeping one from slitting their wrist to this tune is the beauty of HTDA’s lead singer. She packs an emotional wallop physically and aurally! The marriage between the dark imagery and music is perfect in it’s simplicity and complex in it’s execution. I hope you enjoy this baby as much as I did.
I’m an actor, musician and writer who's blended his love for all three into this blog.
