In his first directorial debut, Dave Grohl, of The Foo Fighters takes us down rocks memory lane with this documentary about one of the busiest recording studios in L.A that started it all Sound City. This studio has recorded legendary artist like Fleetwood Mac, Nirvana, Metallica, Rage Against The Machine and many many more. The studio and it’s equipment hasn’t changed for a very long time, a method the studio prides itself in, but how long can it survive in this digital world of sound recording? A world where one doesn’t even have to be able to sing to sound like everything else out there. Dave Grohl explores the intricacies of Sound City Studios and it’s analoge mission statement. The documentary features candid interviews with Tom Morello (Rage), Tom Petty, Trent Reznor (NIN) and Stevie Nicks (Fleetwood Mac) just to name a few. The film releases February of 2013
