Second trailer for Man of Steel gives me more hope than I expected

man-of-steel-trailerMan oh Man of Steel, this trailer, although very Dark Knight-esque, is everything I hoped for, when Warner Brothers Studios rebooted this film. If this goes to plan, we could very well have a legitimate and powerful Justice League film in the future. This second trailer is so gritty and real, that without thinking about it, you know that this was the direction producer Chris Nolan and director Zack Synder had to go to make themselves stand out from the bright and somewhat happy aesthetic of The Avengers. Man, watching this gives me chills, just thinking about the potential character work and back story of MOS, could usher in the decade of DC, who have only had The Dark Knight to rely on for so long. Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Kevin Costner and Michael Shannon and is directed by Zack Snyder (300, The Watchmen) and produced by Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight Trilogy, Inception). Man of Steel hit theaters on June 14, 2013.

“Clark Kent/Kal-El (Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as Superman, not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.”
