Judging by this trailer, Michel Gondry has kinda gone back to his forte…L’Amoure (Love). Hopefully he can rekindle that fire he had with Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind, cause his last few films except The Green Hornet (an underrated film in my opinion), have been pretty mediocre. While watching this trailer, I couldn’t tell you the first fucking thing about what this film is about, but never fear I’ve found a synopsis.

Gondry’s Mood Indigo, based on Boris Vian’s 1947 novel “L’Ecume des jours” (or “Froth on the Daydream”), stars Audrey Tautou as Chloë, a woman who marries an inventor but falls ill during their honeymoon thanks to a water lily that enters her lung, and the only way to treat the ailment is to surround her with fresh flowers — an expense that soon drains his funds.
Still confused? Good…no good arthouse film is complete without a synopsis like that. The trailer is fun and reminds me a little of his film with Gael García Bernal “The Science of Sleep“, but he’s doing a shit load more quirk in this one. The film stars Audrey Tautou, Omar Sy, Jamel Debbouze, Romain Duris, Gad Elmaleh, Alain Chabat and Aïssa Maïga. There’s no official U.S. release date yet.
