The sequel follows the story of Kick-Ass (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), whose antics in the first film have now spawned a citywide wave of masked vigilantism. Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) also returns but is now the world’s first mega villain. As if all this drama and action weren’t enough, the sequel is set against Dave’s/Kick-Ass’ upcoming high school graduation.
Fans will be delighted to know (as if it were ever any doubt), Chloë Grace Moretz returns as the insanely intense Hit Girl. It looks like 2013 might turn into the year of Moretz, with director Kimberly Peirce‘s remake of Carrie heading at us this Fall.
Directed by relatively unknown Jeff Wadlow, Kick Ass 2 also stars Jim Carrey as Colonel Stars and Stripes.
Kick Ass 2 is set to hit theaters August 16, 2013. Will you be there to check out all the action?
