I just finished reading Orsen Scott Card’s Ender’s Game last week and it was absolutely amazing. I’ve never read a story so character driven in my life. I can only hope the movie will be just as amazing. What I’m guessing is that they streamlined this book for our viewing pleasure, so instead of getting 2001 we get more Battlestar. I’ve been checking out the Ender’s Game Tumblr Blog, but there hasn’t really been any new footage posted from the film in awhile. But we do have this video featuring Harrison Ford who plays Colonel Graff and Asa Butterfield who plays Ender Wiggins. In this video they do a bit of teasing to when the film’s trailer will arrive, then half way through it we get actual footage from the trailer, including an image of a tattooed face Ben Kingsley as Mazar Rackham. From what little I see it looks pretty good, but I guess we’ll know for sure on May 7th 2013 when the full length trailer arrives. As always, you can check back with us for the exclusive.
The film also stars Hailee Steinfeld, Viola Davis, Abigail Breslin, Nonso Anozie, Moises Arias, and Aramis Knight. Ender’s Game opens November 1st.
In the near future, a hostile alien race (called the Formics) have attacked Earth. If not for the legendary heroics of International Fleet Commander, Mazer Rackham (Ben Kingsley), all would have been lost. In preparation for the next attack, the highly esteemed Colonel Graff (Harrison Ford) and the International Military are training only the best young children to find the future Mazer. Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield), a shy, but strategically brilliant boy is pulled out of his school to join the elite.Arriving at Battle School, Ender quickly and easily masters increasingly difficult wargames, distinguishing himself and winning respect amongst his peers. Ender is soon ordained by Graff as the military’s next great hope, resulting in his promotion to Command School. Once there, he’s trained by Mazer Rackham, himself, to lead his fellow soldiers into an epic battle that will determine the future of Earth and save the human race.
