I can’t believe it’s been almost 23 years since director Oliver Stone released his smoking gun JFK and now on the cusp of the anniversary of JFK’s death, it appears we are getting another one. Parkland stars Billy Bob Thornton as a CIA agent burdened with the task of putting the pieces together after the JFK’s assassination starting with the famous footage taken by Abraham Zapruder played by Paul Giamatti. Parkland is directed by Peter Landesman (Kill The Messenger, Trade) and produced by Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman. It’s a stellar cast that seemingly looks cohesive and solid…I’ll go ahead and say your welcome.
The film also stars Billy Bob Thornton, Zac Efron, Marcia Gay Harden, Jacki Weaver, James Badge Dale, Jackie Earle Haley, Ron Livingston, Colin Hanks, Tom Welling, Jeremy Strong, and David Harbour. Parkland will debut at the Venice Film Festival and hits theaters later this year.
PARKLAND recounts the dramatic true story of the chaotic events that occurred at Parkland Hospital in Dallas on the day President John F. Kennedy was assassinated on November 22nd 1963.
