Before passing away on April 16, 1999, actress, model and screenwriter Zoë Tamerlis Lund left behind some cult treasures among these, she co wrote the screenplay for Bad Lieutenant and also appeared in an episode of Miami Vice. Alright, so their not amazing credits, but I can’t help but think that if she was alive today she would’ve been right up there with Quentin Tarantino. All that being said, her most notable work and what will probably go down as her best role, is her character Thana in Ms. 45. She’s a regular Charles Bronson in this 1981 classic about a women, having been put upon by a ton of assholes, sets out to fuck up any man that stands in her path. Directed by Abel Ferrara (King of New York, Bad Lieutenant, The Funeral) Ms. 45 is a classic tale of revenge chock full of brutal death, quick edits and eye brows.
Drafthouse films in there constant pursuit of bad ass movies, is re-releasing Ms.45 into theaters on December 13, 2013 and will be well worth the trip to your local art house theater.
