Leave it to my friend Jason Martin, to have a friend, that’s cool enough to share this amazing series with him, thus sharing it with me… still with me? I had no idea what to expect when I got the email from my friend telling me about this amazing show/web series, about a cannabis dealer in Brooklyn, New York/ Manhattan. This, largely self funded series, is the brain child of actor/executive producer/writer, Ben Sinclair (the nameless dealer) and his wife, Emmy Award winning casting director/executive producer/writer Katja Blichfeld. The show is also produced by talent manager Russell Gregory.
These three, according to their website, are in deed, the ones holding this amazing show down. Each episode of HM is no longer than ten minutes, but what they are able to do in that ten minutes is more than what most networks have afforded us,as of late. The marriage of great writing, great acting, great cinematography and great music, can not and will not, be under sold. This series rocks! I’ve embedded a few episodes (in no particular order…cause it really doesn’t matter how you view them) in this post, along with links to their homepage and what not. Folks, don’t sleep on this one. Start watching it before it becomes cool…shit it probably already is and because of this very reason I must hand over my hipster card.
By the way HM is in it’s new season with some amazing new episodes, so go check that shit out! Thanks again J!
In this critically-acclaimed web series, a nameless cannabis dealer delivers to clients with neuroses as diverse as the city they live in. High Maintenance was created by husband-and-wife team Katja Blichfeld and Ben Sinclair. They produce this (largely self-funded) series in New York with their BFF and manager, Russell Gregory, as Janky Clown Productions.
