
The extended trailer for the new Disney Pixar film Soul, dropped a few weeks ago and yes, I am late to the game, but it still worth showcasing cause it’s beautiful and it’s a Disney animation starring a black lead and several other black characters.
Soul is directed by Academy Award winning director Pete Docter (Inside Out, Up) and Kemp Powers (One Night in Miami). The score is being produced by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross
So the story goes like this, Joe is a middle-school band teacher whose life hasn’t quite gone the way he expected. His true passion is jazz — and he’s good. But when he travels to another realm to help someone find their passion, he soon discovers what it means to have soul.
Soul is an upcoming 2020 American computer-animated comedy film produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios to be distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is directed by Pete Docter and co-directed by Kemp Powers, from a screenplay by Docter, Powers, Mike Jones and Tina Fey. The film stars the voices of Jamie Foxx, Questlove, Phylicia Rashad, Daveed Diggs, and Angela Bassett.
Soul is scheduled to be theatrically released in the United States on November 20, 2020.
