Having come fresh off the success of Lightening Strike in the film (Act Of Valor), seems another film has gone and snatched up this emotional track by Snow Patrol to give some mood to an otherwise light trailer. EPIC is the latest CGI 3D endeavor of 20th Century Fox and Blue Sky Studios. The film, which reminds me on so many levels of Ferngully:The Last Rainforest, is about an ongoing battle deep in the forest between the forces of good and the forces of evil. When a teen age girl finds herself magically transported into this secret universe, she must band together with a rag-tag team of fun and whimsical characters in order to save their world…and ours. I Don’t know if I would’ve gone with this track for something so light-hearted and I trust that this will change soon. That being said the trailer looks good and an eyeful in a 3D experience.
Directed by Chris Wedge (Ice Age), the film features the voices of Beyonce Knowles, Colin Farrell, Josh Hutcherson, Amanda Seyfried and Johnny Knoxville. And I’m pretty sure that’s the voice of Aziz Ansari as the slug, but some blogs forgot to mention it. But I did….REPRESENT!!!! A Epic opens in 3D on May 24th, 2013.
